Our educational programs seek to engage the community - children, families, and adults alike. This is your garden - for classes, for quiet relaxation, for learning new gardening skills, for celebrated programming like Flower Piano or simply to enjoy nature's beauty. Any time in the garden can be a time for learning and reflection.
Youth Education

The Youth Education Program serves over 12,000 children and their families every year, providing opportunities for children to explore, discover and learn in the natural world.
With a strong focus on San Francisco's communities, our youth education programs reach almost every elementary school in the San Francisco Unified School District. Learn more about the many offerings for pre-school and school-aged children, summer groups and ways to learn more and get involved.
Garden Camp
Starting in June 2019, children ages 4-9 will have a new way to explore, discover, and love the Garden!
Registration will open February 6 to SFBG Family/Dual Members and above and Feb 20 to the general public. Become a member or upgrade to Family/Dual by February 1 to qualify for the Member pre-sale!

Family & Community
Family programs welcome community members to make the Garden their big back yard and get outside to play and learn together!
From garden crafts to bug hunts in the Children's Garden, to story time and our summer book club at the Library, families with children of all ages will find something to enjoy.
To get the latest on program themes, special guests and new activities, sign up for our monthly family newsletter!
