Admission is FREE for all Members, School Groups, and San Francisco City & County Residents (with proof of residency).
A California driver license or ID showing your SF address is best for proof of residency. A recent utility bill, lease, or other official documentation showing your SF address as well as a photo ID is acceptable too. Digital proof on your smart phone (i.e. photo of your ID, screenshot of your utility bill) is acceptable.

San Francisco Botanical Garden is located in Golden Gate Park, near the corner of Ninth Avenue and Lincoln Way.
There are two entrances, the Main Gate near Ninth Avenue, just inside the Park, and the Friend (North) Gate on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, just steps from the Japanese Tea Garden, de Young Museum, and California Academy of Sciences.
Use the Main Gate for early entry. Friend (North) Gate opens at 9am.
The Garden is served by several public transit routes such as the N-Judah streetcar, 44, 28, 29, 7, 6, and 43 buses.

Parking for cars and bicycles is conveniently located in the Music Concourse Garage. Access to Music Concourse Garage parking is from Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. across from the Botanical Garden (enter the park at 9th Ave and Lincoln Way, garage entrance will be third right) or Fulton Street at 10th Avenue. The south pod of the garage is closest to the Botanical Garden. Parking in the garage is encouraged.
Limited street parking is available in Golden Gate Park.
Additional bike parking is available at both the Main and Friend (North) entrances.

Garage Hourly Rates:
$5.00 weekdays, $29.00 maximum
$6.00 weekends, $33.00 maximum
After Hours/Events: $17.00 flat rate

Most of the Garden's pathways are wheelchair accessible, and accessible pathways are marked on wayfinding signage with the ISA symbol. Complimentary wheelchairs are available at either Garden entrance on a first come, first served basis.
Restrooms and Pathways
Accessible restrooms are located near the Friend (North) Gate, at the the Botanical Garden at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Tea Garden Drive.
There are also restrooms inside the Library building adjacent to the main entrance, and in the Great Meadow. These restrooms are not accessible. See the visitor map for accessible restrooms and paths.

Note about Service Animals:
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.
Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the ADA.
