CHILDREN'S GARDEN MULTI-VISIT

The Children's Garden is the site of this engaging hands-on program that brings students in kindergarten through third grade for repeat visits as they learn about their place in the natural world. Activities are targeted for each grade level and include garden care, habitat exploration, and observation and sketching. Active teacher and chaperone participation is required, preference given to entire grade levels and multiple grade levels from one school.

Summer Groups

ACORN TO OAK

This one-day program based in our Children's Garden invites children to explore the natural world with our enthusiastic summer interns. Children love watering, weeding and harvesting in the garden, exploring the varied habitats and creating nature crafts to take home. Designed for K-5 students, this program runs from mid-June through mid-August, Tuesday through Friday from 10 - 2 pm. Maximum group size is forty-five children.

GARDEN EXPLORERS

Garden Explorers journey through the Botanical Garden in small groups with a volunteer guide, observing, collecting and sketching. Following the hike, children create a special project to take home, based on their experiences in the garden. Designed for groups wishing a shorter program, the program is offered 10 - noon on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday mornings in June and July. Twelve to thirty children can be accommodated on one day.
